Helping Hands Newsletter 2016 #4
Year-end message from Helping Hands founders Mark and Vicci Lonsdale
Just a heartfelt, short word of thanks to all our supporters, volunteers and team; thank you so much for being obedient and faithful in your support of our children.
We had a difficult year in many respects. However, through it all, God’s faithfulness was more than evident. Situations that looked rather intimidating melted as God took care of them. As a result, the children and the organisation made great strides this year.
A special mention needs to be made of the immense contribution Martin and Jeannette Harder made as they loved and cared for the children, trained the care givers, raised funds, built, and organised very efficient systems that continue to benefit us.
Thanks also to Kim Lund who has largely filled the big hole left by the Harders’ departure.
We really are having a huge impact in the children’s lives and the community at large, and it seems a real trust has developed between the local community we serve and ourselves. The children are very happy young men and ladies. Despite a few normal teenage issues, they have made a lot of progress towards growing into young people who will contribute meaningfully to society, and hopefully be an inspiration to other children who may be following behind them.
That despite difficult circumstances, there is hope.
Finally, thank you to all who have contributed resources this year, be it financial or time and talent; they are truly appreciated.
A word of encouragement!
James 1:27 "Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world."
Galatians 6:9 "Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up."
May God bless you all with eternal treasures.

Christmas in November 2016
It was another successful Christmas in November party for Helping Hands on Friday, November 18.
This year, the party was hosted and the meals sponsored by Ocean Basket, St Lucia.
For the children's gifts, Helping Hands adapted a Christmas box concept with gift sponsors having to organize a gift box based on a list of items the children need.
To date, there are 10 children sponsored under our Sponsor-A-Child Program. If you are interested to sponsor a child, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.. To know more about this program, click here.
As the year draws to an end, we wish everyone a very blessed Christmas and an awesome New Year ahead!
